Curriculum

Dr. Navinés (Barcelona, 1976) is a Surgeon Specialist in General and Digestive System Surgery and Doctor in Surgery by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, with special dedication to Oncologic and Minimally Invasive Surgery. He is fluent in English and French. He studied at the Universitat de Lleida and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, and did his doctoral studies at the Universitat de Barcelona. He is an associate member of the hepato-bilio-pancreatic, endocrine-metabolic and breast surgery section at the Hospital Universitari Germans Trias i Pujol since 2007. He was trained in Multiorgan Transplantation at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami (Florida, USA), in hepato-bilio-pancreatic tumors at the Centre Hépato-Biliaire Paul Brousse (Paris, France), and Master in Entrepreneurship at the University of Berkeley; Haas School of Business (California, USA).

Teaching Activity

  • Associate Professor of the Chair of Surgery at the Germans Trias i Pujol Teaching Unit of the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
  • Co-founder of the International Laparoscopic Liver Society (ILLS).
  • Member of several scientific societies.

Scientific approach

Author of more than 30 scientific articles in indexed journals (h-index impact: 4), 50 national and international communications, 2 patents and 6 scientific awards.

He has collaborated in the development of laparoscopic hepatic and mammary surgery, as well as restitutive surgery with platelet gel.

He is also author of 3 book chapters and collaborates in the implementation of Artificial Intelligence systems at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital, as well as being a co-founding member of the medical device company SWAN MEDICAL SL.

He currently collaborates in 4 international research projects and works focused on the development and implementation of robotic hepato-bilio-pancreatic surgery.
